David Rago and Suzanne Perrault presentation: The Value of Art

Please join us at TCNJ’s Center for the Arts on Friday, April 12, at 11:30 a.m. for a special presentation by renowned art and appraisal experts David Rago and Suzanne Perrault, who will discuss The Value of Art. The lecture will be presented in Mayo Concert Hall in the College’s Music Building.

David Rago and Suzanne Perrault are featured appraisers on the hit PBS series Antiques Roadshow, where they specialize in appraising decorative ceramics and porcelain. The pair has appeared at major art shows and conferences across the country, and they have both published a number of works in their fields. Mr. Rago, a TCNJ alumnus, is the founder of the Rago Arts and Auction Center, the largest and leading auction house in New Jersey, which also serves as a venue for private sale and appraisal. Ms. Perrault heads the Rago Arts and Auction Centers Cataloguing Department and co-directs its sales of 20th/21st Century Design. Together, the two have also opened the Perrault-Rago Gallery and co-authored the book Miller’s American Art Pottery: Treasure or Not? among other collaborative publications.

This lecture, the ninth event in the TNCJ’s spring Brown Bag series, is held in conjunction with the College Art Gallery’s current featured exhibition, Value Added: Artists’ Perspectives on the Meaning of Worth, a collection of multimedia artworks and installations that explore concepts of worth and valuation. This exhibition will be open following the April 12 lecture and will remain on view through April 18 during regular gallery hours.
